Oddisee, Katalyst and M-Phazes headline & Judge "itsofficial" Beat Battle
Lace up your freshest kicks, don your limited edition 59fifty flat-brim and dust off your illest threads as three of Hip Hop's best producers are performing under the one roof at the Civic Underground on Thursday March 1st. Flying in from Washington D.C, Oddisee will be spinning the latest tracks from his Rock Creek Party album as well as plenty of old time favourites. Joining Oddisee is Australia DJ/Producer Katalyst who will be playing an exclusive DJ set to preview the new Quakers album - a joint project with Geoff Barrow of Portishead fame. And last but not least, two time ARIA award winner M-Phazes will be also DJing on the night.
Also, a main attraction of the night is the inaugural itsofficial.com Beat Battle competition which will be judged by the three headline acts. The battle involves four od Sydney's finest producers who will go head-to-head and battle it out for prizes valued at over $1,000.

Mark McGuire of Emeralds to play Sydney
One of the central figures in the American underground music scene, Mark McGuire has been playing in the psych-drone band Emeralds for some time, but now is venturing on his first solo tour of Australia. McGuire is an incredibly talented player and songwriter who creates rich and deep layered guitar works using a unique method of live looping that creates a network on tone, melody and freeform modulation that is downright breathtaking to watch. The man is simply a master of his craft. He will be joined by Brisbane psych/drone/pop group and Not Not Fun label-mates Blank Realm. The event is part of radio FBi Social.
